‘God needs you-are you available!?’

This Passion week-Saturday service was led by Davidson Solanki and the message ‘God needs you-are you available!?’ was brought by Rev. Immanuel Christian reflecting on the mission of Jesus – ‘to give His life a ransom for a lost generation and reconcile this world to God’.

For this mission Jesus chose 12 disciples to make disciples of all nations. Jesus chose these seemingly ordinary members of general public whom this world didn’t consider to be of much worth. Jesus saw their hearts-the willingness to work hard and be obedient (submissive). He knew they were imperfect but He saw beyond the imperfection as to what God could accomplish through them and not otherwise.

Following this trend of choosing the least important He chooses again a donkey’s calf for that triumphant entry in Jerusalem contrary to coming on a horseback or with a royal cavalry. Jesus simply wanted to convey as what God could accomplish through us through our mere obedience, submissive attitude towards Him, we need not be strong, fluent, brave or accomplished in any way. He accepts us the way we are, meets us where we are to take us where He wants us to be. Furthermore both modern times and Biblical examples of such obedience were reflected upon as to how God showed His wisdom and power through submissive lives of individuals like Moses, Joseph and Gideon who were once deemed weak, foolish and coward.

Though we may consider ourselves weak, foolish or coward we may answer one only question are we available for God? If we are available then it is not important what we can do for God but what God can do through us!

Indeed a message leaving an impression to visit and reflect often in this life-time.
