On 12 January a devastating earthquake measuring 7.0 magnitude has hit Haiti, including the densely populated capital of Port-Au-Prince. As per the rough estimates, over 150,000 people have died and millions have rendered homeless.
As Christians and fellow human beings we must demonstrate Christ love by supporting the relief and reconstruction work. Gujarati Christian Fellowship United Kingdom (GCFUK) has decided to mobilise Prayers and Financial Support for this worst natural disaster that has hit the people of Haiti.
GCFUK will contribute £500 from its own fund towards this disaster and requests all to donate generously towards the Haiti Earthquake Appeal. The money raised from this appeal will be given to the Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC) Haiti relief fund. DEC is an UK based umbrella organization of 13 humanitarian aid agencies who are currently engaged in bringing relief to the earthquake affected people in Haiti.
Day of Prayer for Haiti
GCFUK has also organised a Day of Prayer for Haiti on
Saturday, 20 February. We have organised a day-long prayer chain (early morning 5:00am till 6:00pm in the evening) where people will get an opportunity to pray wherever they are. Moreover same day in the evening, a
Special Prayer Meeting has been organised at the
Methodist Church Hall, Ealing Road, Wembley during 6:00pm – 8:00pm. All are welcome. Let’s join our hands and hearts and cry out to our Heavenly Father for His grace, mercy & healing for the people of Haiti. Very soon we will be contacting individuals for this appeal. Please write to us at
info@gcfuk.org for further information.
