Easter Celebration 2010
For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
1st Corinthians 15: 22
Approximately 250 friends participated in this GCFUK Easter day celebration at Brent Association Hall, Ealing Road on 4th April 2010. This day commenced with a worship service led by Davidson Solanki, the message was brought by Rev Immanuel Christian reflecting on Jesus’ resurrection. The reading was 1st Corinthians 15: 12-28, The Resurrection of the Dead.
In this world of technology, how many times has science made us question our religious beliefs? This is precisely the reason Paul wrote this passage and has mentioned 104 times the fact of Jesus’ resurrection, for those individuals for whom this story is an imaginary tale. Christianity is established through Jesus’ death. Satan’s attempt to tempt Jesus has always been a failure however; our temptations are more often a success. Questioning Jesus’ decisions for our life, complaining about the situations we face and many more reasons. But Jesus said, “blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." Believe in him and show your faith in Christ through your works. Our life is a gift given to us by our Lord so live it in a way where “You are the light of the world” and no man can stop you from spreading the word of Jesus’ return for all of us, “for as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.”
The teaching was then followed by the welcoming of new members visiting us for the first time and a blessing was asked for individuals who celebrate their birthday and anniversaries in the month of April.
Later notices and news at GCFUK were brought and the congregation was especially briefed about the upcoming events about Family retreat and Summer Picnic.
Later after the worship service the talented Choir took on the stage to sing and play live Gujarati Christian songs (Garba) & the Gujarati folk dance was performed on the floor by both young and old.
This evening finally concluded in a fellowship dinner-a time to socialise, meet and greet friends and loved ones. It was an enchanting evening for everyone who was a part of the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection.
